The Stars and Stripes – a patriotic poem

Few people fly American flags – even on holidays, although you’ll see a school or fantasy flag, and I think that’s sad. This patriotic poem is dedicated to Old Glory, and the need to fly her.

The Captive Wizard – a fantasy poem in allegory

A fantasy poem about a wizard who is unfairly accosted while traveling thru the realm of an evil queen, and gets more than even for the harm done him. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have your own fire breathing dragon around when you need him.

The Viking Princess – fantasy poem

No ordinary princess here, this is a fantasy poem of a Viking princess battle ready, and battle hardened. A “shield maiden” as often called, and just itching for battle.

Chivalry is Never Dead – fantasy poem

“Chivalry is never dead!
hand on hilt to varlet said
“Chivalry will never die
but certainly you will!”
A fantasy poem of a knight without a sense of humor.

The Dog That Wouldn’t Leave – a true story poem

“Bobby” was a Skye Terrier who spent 14 years guarding the grave of his master, John Gray (Old Jock), in Scotland, until the loyal terrier also passed away on 14 January 1872. Several books and films have been based on Bobby’s life, and now this poem to honor “man’s best friend”.

The Creature – fantasy poem

A sad fantasy poem of a mythical creature, part dog, part dragon, the last of its kind, slain without need, or thought, and passes into the Great Light of God to be remembered only as a legend.

The Passing of the Beast – fantasy poem

A fantasy poem that mirrors Beauty and the Beast, but here, the Beast perishes – and only then does the woman he has deeply loved realize that she has loved him, as well. A best fantasy poem.

The Woman and the cat – fantasy poem

This fantasy poem about finding a stray kitten on the street saves a lonely woman from her isolation, and brings the cat and her together as a family sharing their mutual love.

The Dance – a romantic fantasy poem

“The Dance” is a fantasy poem of romance almost like a short love story. Written in free verse, it is a fantasy or reality we all have wished for — here symbolized by a romantic dance to a Sinatra tune, between an older, but still very much in love couple. And as they dance, it seems to bring all of that together. A best fantasy poem, and poem of a long and close romance.

Cinderella – fantasy poem

This top rated Cinderella poem is a full version of the story where I was careful to include all the Disney characters, fairy godmother, mice, evil step sisters, grand ball, prince, and glass slipper.

Battle of the Coastal Raiders – fantasy poem

A surprise Viking raid is turned into a complete rout and Viking defeat when the king of the land sets a desperate trap. It is a fantasy poem of courage, battle, and survival.

A deeply moving fantasy poem about the amazing women in the nursing profession who served on the front lines risking their own lives in service of mankind and their country.

Das Valkyrie — fantasy poem

A fantasy poem written of the Norse Valkyrie who flew thru the sky seeking dead heroes to fight beside the Gods in Valhalla.

The Christmas Tree Miracle- fantasy poem

The Christmas Tree is an inspirational fantasy poem and story written especially for the Christmas Holiday. Not my usual fantasy poem, but it expresses the importance of family and faith, and the love of God. Bets are on that at the end – you shed a tear of joy. It’s a beautiful Holiday, and best fantasy poem.

Hansel and Gretel — fantasy poem

The story of Hansel and Gretel getting lost in the woods, taken prisoner by an evil witch, and finally escape — all placed into a fantasy poetry. One of the most popular poems on my website.

Beauty and the Beast – fantasy poem

The story of Beauty and the Beast somewhat in the Disney version put into fantasy poetry.

The Last Mountain Gorilla – a true life poem

Virunga National Park is the last refuge of the Great Mountain Gorilla. These gentle creatures are hunted and slaughtered by poachers for their body parts, which are then sold in mostly Asian markets. Rangers paid by donations from individuals like you and I are their only sources of protection. This poem is about their daily struggle for survival.

The Flower – fantasy poem

A fantasy story , in allegory, of a beautiful, but shy woman, trapped by her own loneliness, who meets a man, purely by chance, and of the relationship that builds between them. A personal favorite, and a best fantasy poem, although one of romance.

So Long Ago – fantasy poem

A woman, lost at sea on a ship much like the Titanic, the love of her husband never wanes until he grows old and ghost-like, they are reunited. A very ghostlike feeling permeates this entire fantasy poem and love story. I consider it a best poem.

Dwarf King – narrative fantasy poem

Sparing the life of a lone dwarf, a knight is repaid a hundred times over when the dwarf, a king of his kind, saves the knight and his queen years later. A terrific story and top narrative fantasy poem.

The Seven Moons of Dargoor – fantasy poem

In this fantasy poem when the two dominant races of a planet prepare for total war, the metaphysical guardian of the planet, the Time Lord, intervenes and saves the planet from destruction.

The Good Witch and Errant King – fantasy poem

Convinced all witches are evil a king slays them, and the kingdom suffers greatly. He then seeks forgiveness of a good witch who cures the kingdom “in a stroke of light”. A best fantasy poem.
