The Warrior and the River – a fantasy poem

This fantasy poem tells the story of a battle wearied warrior who rests by a placid river thinking and dreaming of a time of peace, only to be brought back to the reality of war far too soon. I think it is a beautiful, contemplative fantasy poem, and although short, is one of my best fantasy poems.

The Captive Wizard – a fantasy poem in allegory

A fantasy poem about a wizard who is unfairly accosted while traveling thru the realm of an evil queen, and gets more than even for the harm done him. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have your own fire breathing dragon around when you need him.

Star Bender – a metaphysical poem & story in free verse

Star Bender is a free verse metaphysical poem about a conversation that takes place in a millisecond of thought, within a dream, between an earth mortal, and a Supreme Being, the “Star Bender”, traveling between the stars. The conversation asks and answers the eternal question of who we are, and what is our future. It is not my usual poem, but I consider it a best fantasy poem, nonetheless.

So Long Ago – a haunting fantasy poem of eternal love

A woman, lost at sea on a ship much like the Titanic, the love of her husband never wanes until he grows old and ghost-like, they are reunited. A very ghostlike feeling permeates this entire fantasy poem and love story. I consider it a best poem.

The Dream – a fantasy poem

This fantasy poem is dreamlike – and tells the story of an older, but still beautiful woman who lives alone, but is guarded by the ghost of a past love. When the website was begun back in 2011, this was probably the most popular poem on the original site. I still love the story, and consider it a best fantasy poem.

Rainbow Bridge – a poem

The story of Rainbow Bridge originated in Norse Mythology of a bridge between earth and the gods. Since then it has morphed into a story of a place where deceased pets wait for their master or mistress, and on their passing are reunited, and journey together to Heaven’s Gate. My tribute to the many poems and stories about this amazing fantasy story. A best fantasy poem.

The Lobsters – the fantasy poem

My fantasy has always been to purchase a lobster or two, and set them free, far in the deep sea – as a gesture of thanks for all nature has given us. This is a fantasy poem and story where such a thing happens, and the gratitude the lobsters show every year when the woman who freed them visits them far on the Azure Sea. A best fantasy poem.
